The Light of the World (Contemporary Worship)

Verse 1

When the night fell hard on me

I was blind and on my knees

You came close like morning rain

Called my name and broke the chain

I had ashes in my hands

You gave beauty, I could stand

Where the shadows used to reign

You spoke hope into my pain

Pre-Chorus

Now my heart can see

What mercy made of me

The dark is losing ground

When Your voice comes down

Chorus

You are the Light of the world

You are the Light of the world

You shine in the darkest place

You lead me home by grace

You are the Light of the world

You are the Light of the world

No shadow can hold me now

When Your glory comes down

Verse 2

On the road I ran alone

Proud enough to call it home

But You found me in the dust

Taught my wounded soul to trust

Every valley heard Your name

Every stone rolled back in shame

Now I walk where rivers sing

Free beneath Your covering

Pre-Chorus

Now my heart can see

What mercy made of me

The dark is losing ground

When Your voice comes down

Chorus

You are the Light of the world

You are the Light of the world

You shine in the darkest place

You lead me home by grace

You are the Light of the world

You are the Light of the world

No shadow can hold me now

When Your glory comes down

Bridge

King of heaven, stay with me

Set my feet where I can see

Every fear must bow and flee

Jesus, You are all I need

King of heaven, stay with me

Set my feet where I can see

I will follow, I will sing

Jesus, You are everything

Chorus

You are the Light of the world

You are the Light of the world

You shine in the darkest place

You lead me home by grace

You are the Light of the world

You are the Light of the world

No shadow can hold me now

When Your glory comes down
