The Victory at Calvary

Verse 1

Upon the hill the shadows fall

A heavy cross, a bitter pain

The darkest hour before the dawn

Where heaven's king was bruised and slain

Chorus

Oh, the victory at Calvary

Where grace and mercy met the grave

The chains are broken, death is dead

And by His blood, our souls are saved

Hallelujah, the tomb is empty now

Hallelujah, before His throne we bow

Verse 2

The veil is torn, the way is free

The crown of thorns now crown of gold

An ocean of redeeming love

More vast than mortal hearts can hold

Bridge

Death has lost its sting, the grave its victory

Jesus reigns in majesty

Forever and evermore

Outro

Redemption's song will never end

Amen
