Teach Us to Pray (Worship Hymn)

Verse 1

Jesus, teach us how to pray

With open hands and hearts awake

Not for praise or earthly gain

But to trust Your holy name

Pre-Chorus

When our courage fades away

Lead us back to words of faith

Chorus

Lord, teach us to pray

As children kneel before the Father

Give us this day

The bread of mercy, grace to follow

Through the cross where love was poured

Through the grave now opened wide

Keep our hearts near to the Lord

And our hope alive

Verse 2

Forgive the debts our hearts have made

As we release the hurt and blame

Guard our feet from paths of pride

Keep Your kingdom deep inside

Pre-Chorus

When temptation calls our name

Be our refuge, be our strength

Chorus

Lord, teach us to pray

As children kneel before the Father

Give us this day

The bread of mercy, grace to follow

Through the cross where love was poured

Through the grave now opened wide

Keep our hearts near to the Lord

And our hope alive

Bridge

Your Son bore sorrow, crown, and thorn

The innocent for sinners worn

Yet from the darkness mercy came

And death could not contain His name

Final Chorus

Lord, teach us to pray

With thankful hearts before the Father

Guide us each day

In truth and love, in grace and wonder

By the cross our chains are gone

By Your risen life we stand

Till our earthly prayer is done

And we see You face to face

Outro

Teach us to pray

Teach us to trust

Teach us to love

As You have loved us
