Teach Us to Pray (Uplifting Christian)

Verse 1

Jesus, gather us near where the weary hearts kneel

Teach our restless spirits the mercy You reveal

Not with pride or polished words, not with offerings we bring

But with open hands before the holy King

Pre-Chorus

Turn our eyes from all we cannot hold

To the Father whose compassion never grows old

Chorus

Lord, teach us to pray

With a humble heart and a trusting faith

When the night is long, when our courage fades

Hold us in Your mercy, Lord, teach us to pray

Verse 2

Give us bread for today and forgive what we have done

As we loosen every debt beneath the rising sun

Guard our feet from paths that lead our hearts astray

Be our shelter and our strength through every day

Pre-Chorus

When the cross reminds us what Your love has paid

Let the life You gave become the hope we raise

Chorus

Lord, teach us to pray

With a humble heart and a trusting faith

When the night is long, when our courage fades

Hold us in Your mercy, Lord, teach us to pray

Bridge

Your kingdom come, Your will be done

In every wounded heart, through every setting sun

By the blood that made us clean, by the stone rolled away

Lead us from our fear into the light of grace

Final Chorus

Lord, teach us to pray

With a grateful heart for redeeming grace

Till our lives become a living offering of praise

Hold us in Your mercy, Lord, teach us to pray

Outro

Father, hear us now

We are Yours, we bow

Teach us to pray
