Mourning to Mercy (Contemporary Worship)

Verse 1

I came in with dust on my hands

And a weight I could not name

I put it down at Your feet

You knew me all the same

My сердце was a torn-up flag

Still You called me by Your name

Pre-Chorus

When I was far away

You were closer than my breath

When I lost my way

You were mercy in the dark

Chorus

On Jesus, on Jesus

My sorrow turns to song

On Jesus, on Jesus

You hold me all night long

Jesus, You are near

Jesus, You are here

Verse 2

You found me by the old back door

Where the tears had soaked the floor

You said, “Child, don’t hide your face”

So I came running once more

Now the shame I wore like chains

Doesn’t speak that name anymore

Pre-Chorus

When I was far away

You were closer than my breath

When I lost my way

You were mercy in the dark

Chorus

On Jesus, on Jesus

My sorrow turns to song

On Jesus, on Jesus

You hold me all night long

Jesus, You are near

Jesus, You are here

Bridge

I was lost, now I’m found

I was broken, now I’m crowned

Every bruise, every scar

Sings of who You are

Take my fear, take my doubt

I will lift Your name out loud

Chorus

On Jesus, on Jesus

My sorrow turns to song

On Jesus, on Jesus

You hold me all night long

Jesus, You are near

Jesus, You are here

On Jesus, on Jesus

My heart can sing again
