Desert Hallelujah (Band Gentle)

Verse 1

I was walking through a dry land

Cracked ground

Tired hands

Red sand

Heart heavy like a stone I carried

Every day the same old story

Chorus

Then I heard a desert hallelujah

Soft as rain on my skin

One small word from You

My Savior

And the river started rushing in

From the valley to the mountain

From the prison to the truth

I was lost and I was thirsty

Now my soul runs after You (oh yeah)

Verse 2

Like Daniel in a dark room waiting

Like David with a slingshot shaking

Like Peter when the waves kept rising

I cried out

You pulled me in

Chorus

Singing this desert hallelujah

Soft as rain on my skin

One small word from You

My Savior

And the river started rushing in

From the valley to the mountain

From the prison to the truth

I was lost and I was thirsty

Now my soul runs after You

Bridge

Every promise in these pages

Lights a fire in my chest

From the garden through the ages

You have never failed me yet (hey!)

Chorus

So I sing my desert hallelujah

Soft as rain on my skin

One small word from You

My Savior

And the river keeps on rushing in

From the valley to the mountain

From the altar to the tomb

You were there in every story

Now my story rests in You
