Wounded for Me (Christian Worship)

Verse 1

At the hill where the daylight withdrew

I stood with the ones who loved You

Wood beneath heaven, the earth held its breath

Love bearing sorrow and death

Verse 2

I watched as the innocent carried our blame

Mercy poured out through Your pain

The tears on the faces, the dust on the ground

Asked what redemption had found

Chorus

Jesus, Lamb of God, wounded for me

Your cross opened wide what my heart could not see

Through sorrow and silence, through darkness and shame

You called me from death by the power of Your name

Verse 3

When morning had broken the stone was aside

Hope stood where the buried One died

The scarred hands were lifted, the grave lost its claim

And mercy rose bright from the shame

Bridge

I remember the cross, I remember the cost

I remember the love that reached for the lost

My sorrow turns praise, my fear turns to trust

The risen Redeemer is faithful to us

Final Chorus

Jesus, Lamb of God, risen and free

Your cross opened wide what my heart could not see

Through sorrow and silence, through darkness and shame

You called me from death by the power of Your name

Outro

At the cross I bow, in Your mercy I stand

Redeemed by the wounds of the Savior's own hands
