When I Survey (The Wondrous Cross) (Ember)

Verse

When I survey the wondrous cross

Where heaven's light and love did meet

My richest gains I count but loss

And pour contempt on all conceit

Verse 2

See from His head His hands His feet

The sorrow and the joy both flow

Did e'er such love and sorrow meet

Or thorns compose so rich a glow

Chorus

Amazing grace how sweet the sound

That saved a wretch like me

I once was lost but now am found

Was blind but now I see

Bridge

Were the whole realm of nature mine

That would be far too small a gift

Love so amazing so divine

Demands my soul my life my lift

Verse 3

His dying crimson like a robe

Spreads o'er His body on the tree

Then I am dead to all the globe

And all the globe is dead to me

Chorus

Amazing grace how sweet the sound

That saved a wretch like me

I once was lost but now am found

Was blind but now I see
