Were You There at Calvary (Good Friday)

Verse 1

Were you there in the garden when He prayed

Sweat like drops of blood as the shadows weighed

Not My will but Yours, He cried

The night the Son of God was crucified

Chorus

Oh, it causes me to tremble, tremble, tremble

To think of the love at Calvary

The Lamb of God was slain for me

Oh, it causes me to tremble at Calvary

Verse 2

Were you there on the road to Golgotha's hill

Carrying the cross, yet He loved us still

They placed a crown of thorns upon His head

And the One who gave us life was counted with the dead

Chorus

Oh, it causes me to tremble, tremble, tremble

To think of the love at Calvary

The Lamb of God was slain for me

Oh, it causes me to tremble at Calvary

Bridge

Father, forgive them, He said

Father, forgive them, He prayed

And that same mercy reaches me

At Calvary, at Calvary

Chorus

Oh, it causes me to tremble, tremble, tremble

To think of the love at Calvary

The Lamb of God was slain for me

Oh, it causes me to tremble at Calvary
