The Silence of the Savior

Verse 1

Silent He stands in the hall of the king

Bearing the weight of the shadow we bring

The governor questions, the crowd demands blood

But He is the quiet before the great flood

With majesty clothed in a garment of shame

The King of all glory, refusing to blame

Chorus

Oh, the silence of the Savior

Standing in our place

Carrying the judgment

By His sovereign grace

The drums of the world beat for His demise

But glory and courage are deep in His eyes

From the darkness of the valley to the cross on the hill

He is silent, He is faithful, He is standing still

Verse 2

The low strings are weeping, the shadows grow long

The voice of the mockers is heavy and strong

Yet power is resting in every silent breath

Trading His crown for the darkness of death

A lamb to the slaughter, the hope of the lost

He measures the mercy, He pays the whole cost

Chorus

Oh, the silence of the Savior

Standing in our place

Carrying the judgment

By His sovereign grace

The drums of the world beat for His demise

But glory and courage are deep in His eyes

From the darkness of the valley to the cross on the hill

He is silent, He is faithful, He is standing still

Outro

The verdict is spoken, the path has begun

Behold the redemption, behold the true Son

Silent He stands

For me
