The Road to Emmaus (Folk Worship)
Lyrics
Verse 1
Two friends walking with heavy hearts
Talking of the cross and tears
A stranger joined them on the road
And gently calmed their fears
Chorus
Our hearts were burning on the road
As He opened up the word
And when He broke the bread with us
We knew it was the Lord
Verse 2
He told the story from the start
How Christ must suffer and rise
And at the table, in His hands
The truth opened our eyes
Bridge
Jesus is alive
He walks with us
Jesus is alive
He walks with us
Chorus
Our hearts were burning on the road
As He opened up the word
And when He broke the bread with us
We knew it was the Lord
