Nearer, My God, to Thee (My Heart's Desire) (Ember)

Verse

Nearer my God to Thee I long to be

In every prayer I plead my soul set free

With every step I take I seek Your face

Unto Your love I cling Your saving grace

Verse 2

Though trials heavy fall and shadows grow

I'll lift my eyes to You my faith won't slow

When storms surround my heart You are my guide

With every breath I take You're by my side

Chorus

My heart's desire O Lord is close to You

In joy and sorrow seek what's good and true

With hands held high I sing Your name divine

Nearer my God to Thee my light eternal shine

Verse 3

In silent nights I dream of holy peace

Where burdens fade away and worries cease

Your whispers in the winds I clearly hear

Calling me gently so Your presence near

Bridge

Though mountains high or valleys deep below

I'll journey ever on Your love I know

Your arms they lift me up when I am weak

In every moment's breath Your strength I seek

Chorus

My heart's desire O Lord is close to You

In joy and sorrow seek what's good and true

With hands held high I sing Your name divine

Nearer my God to Thee my light eternal shine
