Light Finds You (Indie-Pop Ballad)

Verse 1

You woke up heavy

Same four walls

Same ceiling stain

Phone face down on the dresser

Heart loud

But it has no name

You count the dishes

Left in the sink like days gone by

Even your coffee

Comes with a sigh

Chorus

But the light finds you

Even when you don't look up

It climbs through a crack in the curtain

Slides right into your coffee cup

You don't have to be alright

To be worthy of this view

You don't have to fix it all tonight

The light still finds you

Verse 2

You cancel plans

Say you're "tired"

Mean you're scared

Tie your shoes in the hallway

Sit back down on the second stair

But you keep breathing

Tiny proof that you still care

One slow shower

Fresh

Clean air

Chorus

And the light finds you

Even when you don't look up

It paints little gold on the carpet

Soft as a friend's hand picking you up

You don't have to be alright

To take one step

Then two

You don't have to know the finish line

The light still finds you

Bridge

Call it grace

Call it luck

Call it staying

When it's rough

Call a friend

Let it ring

Say "I'm not okay"

And hear them sing

"me too" (me too)

Chorus

Yeah

The light finds you

Even when you're all used up

It hides in a joke you almost skip

In the stranger who holds the bus

You don't have to be a fighter

To be slowly coming through

You don't have to see tomorrow clear

For hope to hold you

Outro

You woke up heavy

But you woke up true

One soft morning

The light feels like you
