Lazarus, Come Forth (Uplifting Christian)

Verse 1

By the stone where the mourners stood

Two sisters carried their grief

The dust held a brother’s name

Yet hope waited underneath

Pre-Chorus

You did not turn from their tears

You met them there in the ache

Then heaven heard Your command

And death began to break

Chorus

Lazarus, come forth

Hear the voice of the Son

Leave the darkness and rise

The grave has come undone

Lazarus, come forth

Every chain must release

Jesus, Lord over death

You are our living peace

Verse 2

The watchers saw the doorway breathe

The linen fall from his face

A living sign beneath the sun

A witness to Your grace

Pre-Chorus

What was sealed by human hands

Could not withstand Your word

The silence yielded to Your call

The buried life was heard

Chorus

Lazarus, come forth

Hear the voice of the Son

Leave the darkness and rise

The grave has come undone

Lazarus, come forth

Every chain must release

Jesus, Lord over death

You are our living peace

Bridge

And when our hearts lie buried

Beneath regret and fear

You speak across the darkness

Your resurrection draws near

No stone can hold Your promise

No night can hide Your flame

The One who called the dead to life

Still calls us by our name

Final Chorus

Lazarus, come forth

Hear the voice of the Son

Leave the darkness and rise

The grave has come undone

Jesus, call us forth

From the places we hide

By Your mercy we awaken

By Your life we arise

Outro

You are the life that death cannot defeat

You are the hope beneath our feet
