Jesus Walked on Water (Solemn Uplifting)

Verse 1

The shoreline held its breath that night

While waves rose black beneath the sky

The boat was pulled by restless hands

And fear moved faster than the wind

Pre-Chorus

Then through the silver break of dawn

A figure crossed the heaving dark

They heard Your voice above the storm

“Take heart, I am here”

Chorus

Jesus walked on water

Where our courage came undone

Jesus walked on water

Calling every heart to come

When the deep is all around us

And the night has only begun

We will fix our eyes upon You

Jesus, faithful Holy One

Verse 2

One foot reached beyond the rail

One heart believed, one heart grew pale

The waves were taller than his faith

But Your hand was quicker than the grave

Pre-Chorus

You did not leave him sinking there

You drew him from the surge and spray

And taught us in the wildest wind

Your presence is the way

Chorus

Jesus walked on water

Where our courage came undone

Jesus walked on water

Calling every heart to come

When the deep is all around us

And the night has only begun

We will fix our eyes upon You

Jesus, faithful Holy One

Bridge

At the cross You bore our sorrow

In the tomb You broke the chain

By Your blood we cross the waters

By Your mercy rise again

No storm can steal the hope You purchased

No grave can hold the ones You save

Your redeeming love will lead us

Safely through the waves

Final Chorus

Jesus walked on water

And He walks beside us still

Jesus walked on water

He is Lord above the billows

When the deep is all around us

Your strong hand will hold us up

We will fix our eyes upon You

Jesus, faithful Holy One
