Jesus Loves Me Today (Gentle Kids)
Lyrics
Intro
(acoustic guitar, soft hums)
Verse 1
When I wake up and see the light
I know that everything's alright
The birds are singing, sky is blue
And Jesus, I am thinking of You
Pre-Chorus
On sunny days and rainy too
His love is always shining through
Chorus
Jesus loves me today
In my work and in my play
When I laugh or when I cry
He is always standing by
Jesus loves me, yes, today!
Verse 2
If I trip and scrape my knee
He is right there close to me
If I make a big mistake
His love is something none can take
Pre-Chorus
On sunny days and rainy too
His love is always shining through
Chorus
Jesus loves me today
In my work and in my play
When I laugh or when I cry
He is always standing by
Jesus loves me, yes, today!
Bridge
Yesterday He loved me so
Tomorrow too, I know, I know
But right now, this very day
His love is here to stay
Final Chorus
Jesus loves me today
In my work and in my play
When I laugh or when I cry
He is always standing by
Jesus loves me, yes, today!
Outro
Jesus loves me, yes, today
(soft guitar ending)
