Jesus Before Pilate (Christian Worship)

Verse 1

Morning found the courtyard cold

Stone beneath the gathered feet

Voices traded truth for fear

While mercy stood where blame would speak

Pre-Chorus

The questions fell like iron rain

No answer bent beneath the shame

Chorus

Jesus before Pilate, standing still

Crownless beneath the governor’s will

He carried every failure, every stain

Silent as the lamb beneath the pain

Jesus before Pilate, brave and true

Love was bearing what the world would do

Though judgment raised its hand that day

Redemption walked the narrow way

Verse 2

Hands that healed the broken ones

Bound by cords they did not earn

Eyes that saw the outcast whole

Met the gaze of those who would not learn

Pre-Chorus

No throne, no sword, no earthly claim

Could turn Him from the Father’s name

Chorus

Jesus before Pilate, standing still

Crownless beneath the governor’s will

He carried every failure, every stain

Silent as the lamb beneath the pain

Jesus before Pilate, brave and true

Love was bearing what the world would do

Though judgment raised its hand that day

Redemption walked the narrow way

Bridge

For the thief, for the proud

For the lost beneath the crowd

For the wounds we hide away

He chose the cross, He chose to stay

And the sentence spoken there

Could not chain the rising prayer

What looked like defeat below

Became the door through which grace would flow

Final Chorus

Jesus before Pilate, standing still

Holy courage stronger than the will

Of every voice that called for blood and blame

He bore our night and sanctified our shame

Jesus before Pilate, Lamb of God

Through the judgment, through the rod

Now the guilty can be free

His redemption reaches me

Outro

The silence was not weakness

The cross was not the end

The One who bore our judgment

Rose to call us friends
