Forgive Them, Father (Solemn Uplifting)

Verse 1

Under a bruised and darkened sky,

You bore the weight no heart could see;

The hammer fell, the crowds cried out,

Yet mercy moved through agony.

Pre-Chorus

No curse was heard upon Your lips,

No fire answered human blame;

You lifted wounded eyes to heaven,

And called Your Father’s name.

Chorus

Forgive them, Father, let mercy flow,

Where hatred planted pain;

From wood and blood, a river runs,

And washes clean our shame.

Forgive them, Father, hear Your Son,

The spotless Lamb who pleads;

Your love is stronger than the grave,

Your grace is all we need.

Verse 2

The soldiers turned, the rulers mocked,

The thief beside You learned to pray;

A kingdom opened in Your word,

As death began to lose its claim.

Pre-Chorus

The veil was torn, the earth stood still,

The Holy One drew near;

In every wound, compassion shone,

And conquered mortal fear.

Chorus

Forgive them, Father, let mercy flow,

Where hatred planted pain;

From wood and blood, a river runs,

And washes clean our shame.

Forgive them, Father, hear Your Son,

The spotless Lamb who pleads;

Your love is stronger than the grave,

Your grace is all we need.

Bridge

For every hand that turned away,

For every heart that could not see,

You made a road through judgment’s night,

And called the lost to peace.

The stone is rolled, the dawn has come,

The ransom has been paid;

The cross reveals the heart of God,

Where mercy never fades.

Final Chorus

Forgive us, Father, let mercy flow,

Now through our lives released;

Teach us to love as Jesus loved,

And answer hate with peace.

Forgive us, Father, hear our prayer,

The risen Christ we praise;

Your love is stronger than the grave,

Your grace will lead us home.

Outro

Your grace will lead us home,

Your mercy leads us home.
