Come Close Jesus (Contemporary Christian)

Verse 1

I came in tired

With dust on my hands

Burdened and bruised

Still You understand

My name on Your lips

Like mercy in rain

You met me low

And called me by name

Pre-Chorus

So I lift my eyes

To the cross again

You took my fear

And You pulled me in

Chorus

Jesus, Jesus

Hold me close

Jesus, Jesus

You are hope

When I’m shaking

You stay near

Jesus, Jesus

You are here

Verse 2

I’ve walked through dark

With a bitter heart

But Your love kept a fire

Burning in the dark

You wash my shame

Like water on stone

I was lost in the crowd

Now I’m Your own

Pre-Chorus

So I lift my eyes

To the cross again

You took my fear

And You pulled me in

Chorus

Jesus, Jesus

Hold me close

Jesus, Jesus

You are hope

When I’m shaking

You stay near

Jesus, Jesus

You are here

Bridge

You broke the chains

You spoke my peace

You stood in the grave

And You reached for me

All my sorrow

Falls at Your feet

Jesus, my Savior

You still carry me

Chorus

Jesus, Jesus

Hold me close

Jesus, Jesus

You are hope

When I’m shaking

You stay near

Jesus, Jesus

You are here

Outro

Jesus, Jesus

Stay with me

Jesus, Jesus

Set me free
